When I was in New York a couple weeks ago, I met a friend for brunch in the Upper West Side. It was a random pick, but one of the best meals of my trip.
I knew I had to replicate it the minute I got home, and knew I wanted to make it Septembers Recipe Club recipe. Even though I didn’t get home for 3 weeks, it was the first thing I made.
The recipe is great for a lazy Sunday, or to make for a crowd. Each part of the recipe (besides the fried eggs) can be made ahead of time and either frozen or stored in the fridge and then warmed and assembled the day of.
The part that really makes this recipe delicious, is the hot sauce honey butter. It ties the sandwich together and gives it the perfect kick.
You can find the recipe for this breakfast sandwich in the Recipe Club Archives. The recipes there are for Recipe Club subscribers only. Recipe Club is a free monthly subscription that delivers recipes to your mailbox, not your inbox. You can sign up here and the password the archives will be emailed to you.
