A gin and tonic may be my go to drink of choice, but I think margaritas are my favorite cocktails. I have yet to find a combination of flavors for a margarita that I dislike, but this simple grapefruit is my go-to. Be warned, they are strong, and you can barley taste the tequila, which could be a recipe for disaster, or a great night.
You can learn how to make these glasses here.
A key part of this margarita is the salted rim.
In a high walled bowl mix 1/4 C sugar, 1 C Kosher Salt, and the zest of 1 lime.
Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, turn over the glass and twist it in salt sugar mix.
2 parts tequila
2 parts triple sec
2 parts grapefruit juice
1 part lime juice
In a cocktail shaker mix tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and grapefruit juice.
Salt the rim of the glass with lime salt, add ice.
Pour margarita into glass, garnish with lime.
