I have had the idea of opening a small shop since December, but could never nail down what exactly I wanted to sell I just knew I wanted to be able to create things. Through a lot of trial and error, trying new things, and exploring many interest, I have recently been able to find my niche and run with it. And I am so excited about the shop, and Supper Club Social (but, SCS is a different story, for a different day!).
As for the student loan aspect, a fellow blogger went back to art school a few years ago and opened a society6 shop and used her shop proceeds to pay off her loans. Loans she acquired while pursuing her dream. She was very open about it and I admired her reasoning and approach. Now, navigate the waters of opening a shop, and pursuing a dream, I wanted to borrow the idea of using a shop to pursue a dream, even if I am doing it a bit backwards. I acquired some debt through college, working towards an entirely different dream (think Wall Street) and while my dreams have changed, the debt has not. So while my situation is a little backwards, and different than Sarah’s, I think the idea will work well. I hope one day to not
The shop is also a bit of extension of Supper Club Social. Basically, I like dinner parties. I use the products from the shop at Supper Club Social dinners, But, I don’t think there should be rules as to what constitutes a dinner party. Every night that you put in the effort to actually make dinner, is enough reason to celebrate. I have learned that, if you have the tools and items on hand, it is much easier to make things a bit fancier, and you are much more likely to!
Each time I use eat with real napkins, I feel like my life is a little more together. A cocktail in a fancy vintage glass, I must be a real adult. A blanket, serving board, and napkins ready to go for a picnic, I must be on may way to super mom (in like 10 years!)
Having these items within reach make my evenings more enjoyable, make me feel like i have things together, and make an impromptu girls night, last minuet cocktail nights, or even a dinner party for 12, things I can mange with out breaking a sweat.
All the items in my shop are geared towards dinner parties, the table top, or an outdoor picnic. I hope that they help you enjoy your evening, or mornings, a bit more.
As I am working out the kinks and getting a feel for this, all the prices are introductory until the end of July. And use the code FREESHIPPING to get free shipping on all items!
I have a couple items in the pipeline as well that I will be adding in the following weeks! And vintage kitchen goods will be added as found!
I also would love any feedback, suggestions, request, etc!
