Hello and happy Tuesday to you! I hope you had a wonderful valentines/three day weekend! Here is a peek at what I was up to…
On Friday, for Valentines, Andrew and I opted to stay in. We have had the most wonderful Valentines in the past and this was no exception. Last year we lucked out and got a seat at an oyster bar (that doesn’t take reservations!) but this year we didn’t want to test our luck so we stayed in and had our own champagne and oyster night. It was perfect. The best part, no traffic.
While Andrew was in charge of food and drinks, I volunteered for dessert and decor. We really both played to our strong points! I saw this dark chocolate cake with a red wine chocolate glaze in Bon Appetite and knew I wanted to make it for Valentines. I went back and forth all day about whether or not to make it because thanks to my dad I had enough sweets to last me through the weekend! In the end I decided that Valentines is all about chocolate, and wine, and you can never have enough of either. We ended up snacking on it all weekend that today I brought it to work so that I was no longer tempted to devour it.
I cannot believe that I have been in my apartment for almost six months and I am just now putting together my main gallery wall. I have a chair full of frames, and things that need frames and I have started slowly putting things together. Also, the place where I get most of my art supplies is having a major sale on canvases and I couldn’t help my pick a few up, I spent yesterday painting the last two, and now I just have to decide where they go! So far, I am happy with the pieces I have, I just have to find a way to put them together!
